A Gem in Puerto Vallarta AreaRated:![]() by Jose from USA Age: Written 1 year ago | I've been playing this golf course since it opened in 2001 and it has been excellent from the start. I don't know how they do it but it is consistantly great every time I play. Excellent layout... Both courses and equally challenging. All levels of golfers can play here, just adjust the tees you play. The staff is very helpful. Here is the best part... It never seems to be crowded.
About a 20 minute taxi ride from the hotel zone in PV. If you love golf and you love Mexico... You got to go. |

Wonderful courseRated:![]() by Ron Wright from USA Age: 54 Handicap: 9 Written 3 years ago | Played it a couple weeks ago twice. Wonderful course, generous fairways for those of us with snow on the ground at home. Greens roll true. Don't shortside yourself! Staff is friendly and kitchen staff actually delivered my breakfast burrito out to the 4th hole because I had to go for my tee time. Extra service was appreciated. You'll love the course. |

WOWRated:![]() by Steve from USA Age: 39 Handicap: 15 Written 4 years ago | This course is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Being surrounded by the jungle was awesome. There is a par 3 island green surrounded by jungle. You actually are teeing off over the canopy of trees. Friendly staff and very clean club house. Highly recommended for any golfer that truely enjoys a heavenly view. |
GolfRated:![]() by steve from usa Age: 44 Handicap: 12 Written 4 years ago | Great golf course, very fair course, gets a caddie, if you have never played here before. My caddie was clubbing me on the 3rd hole. Was well worth it to play here. |
My Nicklaus Course Opinion.by Brad from Milwaukee, WI - USAAge: 32 Handicap: 8 Written 4 years ago | Located out of the city, in the foot hills to the mountains which make up the Bay of Banderas, gives the Vista Vallarta courses a wonderful template to build their courses (Nicklaus and Weiskopf). I was able to play this course in 06, right before they closed the grounds for final preparations for the Senior PGA event (interesting playing with the stands/scoreboards up, etc). It was obviously in great conditions due to the pending event, but in playing there again, nothing had really changed with conditions. Top notch all the way through. My only real problem with this track was the layout. While a nice design, it's typical Nichlaus. Very wide from the tee-box, punctuated by sand traps to squeeze your landing areas. Overall, very open to allow wayward shots the chance for a save back into play. Wonderfully contoured greens though, with subtle breaks, so quality putting a necessity. Regardless, this is still a championship facility, and therefor presents good value towards it's consumers and worth the trip. Even more-so if you attend the sales pitches from the time-share resorts through the Puerto and Nuevo Vallarta cities. I was able to cut my green fees down to $80 USD for 18. A cart is necessary ($45 USD) though, so keep it mind (at least, they made me take one). As a result, hiring a caddie for the day is a bit excessive, but each to their own. |
