Archie's ROCKS!Rated:![]() by Timoteo from United States Written 2 years ago | I've been coming to PV for a long time and have always loved having the option of a totally different type of food while here. They do a great job with the dishes-lots of flavor and generous proportions. Very consistent, good service and friendly atmosphere. |
Sergio and Crew Turn it OUT!Rated:![]() by Brian Wildrick from United States Written 2 years ago | I was just at Archie's Wok on Feb. 18th, 2010 for my fiance's birthday. We were with her entire familly and there was a "20 minute" wait, which was hard for some since it turned into a 45 minute wait, but Sergio had the kitchen window open...so I decide to see what's going on back there. Well, I was amazed. Being in the business with a gourmet pizza shop in Alaska, I understand the value of quickness, timing, and organization in a kitchen. The crew was quiet, clean, and diligent. There were laughs as a joke was made, never losing concentration. Sergio came over and we talked for a bit about the business, and I complimented his operation. It's really impresive because ther were 12 guys in a very small space producing fine, fine food. The salads were delicious, and the sizzling fish in banana leaf was balanced and flavorful. (recommended by Sergio himeself) To top it all off, the wait staff came out and sang happy birthday to Lindsay and gave us all Amarretto snifters with kaffir lime cheesecake to die for. Sergio and his crew went above and beyond to make the wait well worth it and his personal hospitality was highly appealing. I suggest going to Archie's Wok. The reason for the wait turned out to be the loss of 5 tables due to high wind and things blowing away...Sergio and crew, thank you very much, and we will tell all our customers about your spot, and maybe you'll start hearing "i heard about it in Alaska" more often! |
A Blast from The PastRated:![]() by Bob Braaten from Canada Written 2 years ago | We dined at Archies Wok, tonight Febuary 4th 2010. We found the food good to excellent, portion sizes more than ample. The service was overall very good with one slight glitch. Two of our party got their food a few minutes earlier than the other pair. I say a slight glitch because we ordered with one waiter and another served the food and since we were on seperate bills they may not have realized that we were together. The other review complaining about the amount of meat was clearly an error or just a bad night. Highly recommend you try this wonderful place. |
Where's the beef?? (and chiken and veggies?)Rated:![]() by Wendy Tremblay from Canada Written 2 years ago | I have heard good things about this place for years and finally went last night. We had egg rolls that were soft and warm when they should have been crispy and hot. Next two dishes were a disaster. The dish with beef was all eggplant. I told the waiter he had given us the wrong order because all I had was eggplant but then my husband did find a piece of beef on his plate. Lucky him. They brought us Pad Thai to stubstituate and it was terrible. Mushy and bright orange with hardly any meat and a terrible taste.
The chicken dish we ordered had a lovely sauce but alas hardly any chicken again but lots of the eggplant and a couple of pea pods. I will never eat there again. |
A perfect choice.Rated:![]() by Jack Dixon from Mexico Written 2 years ago | We've never been disappointed. |
Great food if you're tired of MexicanRated:![]() by Seattle WA folks from USA Written 2 years ago | Great place for asian cuisine. We ordered three dishes, the pancit, short ribs and breaded fish. The pancit and short ribs were the best. The breaded fish dish was somewhat bland and would skip on that the next time we go. |
Awsome ServiceRated:![]() by david sierra from mexico Written 2 years ago | Archies Wok is a total knockout. Time stops, and rain pours, its so relaxed, one time We were there for dinner sitting at the patio, and we noticed water level on the floor rising, in less than a minute the entire patio got flodded, too much rain!! staff was working on it but still waiters and owners were so relaxed about it, did not freaked or anything, and continued serving and attending all the tables some of us customers, got up from our table to help out we kept the tree leaves from clogging the water exits, lifted tables, helped waiters not to fall, etc.. it was so fun! we all got a bit wet and the water was cold but the weather was nice and humid, after the emergency, we all got dry towels and a pot of tea each, i even got a free pie and archies family and customers were in for a great time and laughs. What would have been a tragic evening for almost any food place it simply does not affect the happy friendly mood of archies wok. T
I love arches wok.!! |
Always OutstandingRated:![]() by k s from USA Written 3 years ago | We go to Archie's every time we are in PV. The food, service and atmosphere are the best in town. |
Great FoodRated:![]() by Germz from Mexico Written 3 years ago | I live in PV and the first time I ate here I ordered off the summer menu and was not impressed. I revisited and ordered a la carte and wow!. One of my favorite dishes when living in Chicago was pad thai and Star of Siam on Illinois had the best. The pad thai at Archie's is now my second favorite. Other dishes are just as good. |
