Disappointing Rip Off.Rated:![]() by M.L.Harris from USA&Mexico Written 1 year ago | My wife and I are living in Puerto Vallarta. We know for a fact that ALL restaurants serve purified water and ice so there is no need to buy bottled water in restaurants.
We went to La Bodeguita del Medio. I have been to the real one in La Habana, where by the way, they don't serve water in bottles. I ordered two glasses of water, without ice and with Limon. I received to large bottles of water, two glasses filled with ice and no Limon. The waiter proceeded to tell me in English that no drinking water was safe in PV and they only served bottled water. Not wishing to argue with him, we looked at the menu. This is NOT CUBAN FOOD. It is Mexican food. There were no Black Beans&Rice, no Cuban sandwiches (no sandwiches at all), no Chicken and rice, no ropa vieja. We ordered Ceviche. The waiter told us "We have no fish today." No fish? Every other restaurant on the Malecon has it. Was this another attempt to get us to order the higher priced entrees? I don't know, but after the water story, we both left the restaurant without eating anything. |

I can't wait to go backRated:![]() by Buck Gentry from Vermont, USA Written 2 years ago | I was in Puerto Vallarta about four years ago. Walking the melicon at night we were drawn in by the music. We wound up going upstairs and sitting at a table overlooking the dance floor and the band. What a time we had. We went several times during our week long stay. I still dream about the Mojitos. The one problem was to sit overlooking the dance floor or people watching on the street. You gotta go. I'm going again this May Can't Wait |

Great atmosphere, beautiful food....Rated:![]() by Mark and Lori Stevenson from USA Written 3 years ago | My wife and I were not sure if we wanted to go into a cuban place. We finally came in and had a beautiful lunch. Cuban food is made for sharing. We ordered rice, fried bananas, delicious black beans and tamarind shrimp. You serve a little of each in your plate and the flavors are wonderful. The friendly staff brought us some cuban mojo (onion, garlic and oil sauce), this even gave a better twist to the food.
The food was very good but the live cuban trio singing around the tables (for free) was great. La Bodeguita is famous for being the inventors of the famous Cuban Mojito. They sell hundreds of them and after 2 or 3 evrything becomes a lot of fun. We came back everyday either for lunch or dinner. At night is a very hot spot and there is even a larger music group to dance with. Don′t miss t, it is a great place in the malecon. |
Great Viewby Teri from USA, Houston, TxWritten 4 years ago | Food was delicious! Try the picadillo empanadas. We were in Puerta Vallarta for 8 days and ate at the Bodeguita twice. We sat downstairs near the window and had a great view of the malecon. The second time we sat upstairs at the window and the view was awesome. Ezspecially since we were there in the evening and got to enjoy sundown.
Awesome place. |
