Over the last 5 years we've eaten many a meal in Bucerias but never at Mark's. We were somewhat scared off by some of the negative comments we saw on this site.



But my wife and I had a great, great meal and superior service. And the place was full as this was during spring break! This restaurant compares favorably to Cafe De Artistes and Trio's in the center of Puerto Vallarta.



My wife and I had the Grouper with a special sauce the chef was experimenting with and it was absolutely mouth watering! The appetizers and desert were excellent too. We will be back next year when we return to Nuevo Vallarta!

To any of the complainers...I notice that the food was never your complaint. The waiters do become scarce unless you catch their eye, because they are respectful and do not want to hover after they see people enjoying their meal.It is not a lack of attentive behavior, but they assume you want to enjoy your company and not be pestered.

If you had to chase down your check then it is because in Mexico they do not lay the check until you ask for it. That is the custom. So, be prepared to follow their customary procedures and not those that you have at home. Otherwise, stay home.

It is a different, unhurried lifestyle. Enjoy it and don't fight it.

The food at Mark's is amazing and very well thought out and prepared by Jan and her staff. Just enjoy....

One of our favorite places in Bucerias or in all of the Bahia de Banderas.

The food was excellent and service was outstanding. We were pleasantly surprised when we got our check....very reasonable. We highly recommend this resturant and you have to try the potato leek soup....yummy!!!

I can see why Mark's won best restaurant overall and north shore, it is a gem with wonderful ambience and great gourmet food without pretension. The beet salad and fresh seafood is amazing. A must while in PV.

Have eaten more than 3 times, the first being the best. Bad attitudes and mediocre food have developed through the span of my visits. Save your money.

My partner and I visited Mark's week before last.

It was busy, despite (I believe) it being considered low season. The waiters were good and efficient.

The food was good quality. I had the pasta which was good and my partner had tuna which he enjoyed. We had bruschetta to start and it was good but we should have shared one between us as it was very filling (though this is just our opinion of course).

The wine was nice though expensive (though all wine in PV and areas seems expensive).

Prices were average to slightly above I think.

Would definitely recommend.

Mark's is on my to do list for my annual visits. The service and food are both superior. Mark's is worthy of it's 4 - 5 star rating.

We have been going to Vallarta since 1995, and saw Mark's place transform from a little bar to the most magnificient, full of ambiance fabulous restaurant. There are many in Vallarta but none compare to the quality, and price of the food, combined with the atmosphere of the place. The staff us curtious and attentive, the owners are always present and make sure that everything is perfect. I would not go to Vallarta without having a dining experience at Mark's bar and grill.
