Description

Mauricio's is a popular, casual restaurant, with a family atmosphere. The seafood portions that are served will satiate even the greatest hunger.

The restaurant is large, without pretentious decorations. The style is common of restaurant stands on the roadside: open air, thatched roof, plastic furniture, and some hanging pictures. Most of the entrees cost $99 pesos and the combinations have three basic ingredients: shrimp, fish fillet, and lobster and are prepared to your liking. The portions are large. Mauricio's is always full, but the difference is that they offer guests marlin tostadas and a small beer or soda whille you wait.

Favorite Resturant on the Trip

This was recommended by one of the staff on a Boat trip. Definitely did not disappoint. If you mention where you are going to go every local knew of it. Nothing is served on fancy dishes and it is very informal. My husband had one of the specials which was baby red snapper and octopus and I had the waiter recommendation (Coci Coci Shrimp) which was shrimp in a white sauce with cheese, onion and spinach. Both were wonderful and more than enough food. I had a Margarita and my husband had a Pepsi. Then we the waiter brought a dessert which we both enjoyed. It was a half banana grilled and drizzled with a white cream sauce and a shot of Kahlua on the side. Our bill was about 400 pesos.
Everything was very good and the staff was very friendly. If we had found this earlier in the trip I would gone more than once.

We we're introduced to Mauricio's on our first visit to P.V. a few years ago and have been back 3 times since. We make it a must visit. I agree that there is too much food (the wife and I split a shrimp plate and have trouble finishing). Would recommend this restaurant to anyone (even with the baby chickens running around the restaurant). Caught the Ixtapa bus at Woolworth's in downtown P.V. and the driver took us right to it.

Our second trip to PV but the first to Mauricio's. Be sure to order a Tecate Beer. You'll be surprised. The food was great and probably more than most can eat. The service was super. Great price and before leaving a bottle of Tequila was brought to the table. We opened and had a couple of short shots. That bottle was given to us to take as we were leaving. Six of us will definitely return on every trip.
